Three students at CityU have achieved first and second prizes in the Postgraduate section and the third prize in the Undergraduate section of the IEEE Hong Kong Section Student Paper Contest held in 2004.
Professor Li Ping of the Department of Electronic Engineering has been made a Croucher Senior Research Fellow for his distinguished research achievements in mobile communication systems.
A research project led by Professor Ron Hui, Chair Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering (EE), has made a major technological breakthrough in developing the world's first two-wired dimmable electronic ballast. The project received a US patent in November 2002.
Six outstanding engineering students, three from CityU and three from the Chinese University of Hong Kong , shared the honours at the IEEE Hong Kong Student Paper Contest Awards. The winners presented their papers and the achievements of their innovative research projects at the award presentation ceremony held on 22 February at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University .
