A research team comprising experts from CityU , Harvard University and Nokia Bell Labs has successfully fabricated a tiny on-chip lithium niobate modulator, an electro-optic modulator which is more efficient, with faster data transmission and lower costs. CityU researchers are looking into its application for the coming 5G communication.
A novel non-destructive inspection (NDI) technique invented by CityU's Professor Michael Hung, Chair Professor in the departments of Electronic Engineering, and Building and Construction, may provide the answer to detecting faults in building structures.
