Milkmaids mooove into CityU

A herd of Ozzie cows have joined the ranks of City University - but they won't be studying much.

The cattle are at a dairy farm operated by CityU and will soon produce ice cream and milk to be sold on campus.

The cattle were imported from Australia to the university's dairy farm in Lam Tsuen, Tai Po, on Tuesday and were welcomed by the CityU Council chairman, Lester Garson Huang, and president Way Kuo, pictured.

CityU said the university farm went into full operation as soon as the cattle arrived.

"In a first for local universities, HK Tech fresh milk and ice cream are expected to be sold on campus from next January," it said.

"The long-awaited arrival of the cattle marks another milestone in our development. Let's welcome them to the CityU family!" Huang said.
