CityU wins top spot in global university rankings

The Times of Higher Education Special Issue (THE) of the United Kingdom announced the ranking of the most international universities in 2020 on January 29th.

City University of Hong Kong was named the "Times Higher Education Special", the most international university in the world. (City University website)

The ranking covers 170 universities around the world. It mainly measures the scores of international student to staff ratio, international co-authored papers, and international reputation.

The No. 1 CityU has alliances with more than 400 partner institutions in 44 countries or regions around the world, and more than 1,200 students exchange with other countries every year. CityU pointed out that this ranking achievement reflects CityU's achievements in talent cultivation and innovation and scientific research, which are in line with international standards.

The second-ranked HKU has more than 20,000 students, of which nearly 8,000 are from overseas. The Chinese University has students from more than 50 countries, and about 6,000 students go abroad to study or participate in overseas internships.

The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) and the Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich) are tied for third.

The sixth place is Imperial College London; the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the University of Oxford are tied for seventh; the ninth place is the University of Cambridge; the tenth place is Singapore Nanyang Technological University.
