OAPS is a joint initiative between the Library and the academic departments to collect students' quality papers, preserve them in digital format and share them within the University and beyond so as to provide perpetual access to our students' research output. 2011 marks the sixth anniversary of the project. With the dedication and support of the academic departments, the Library has collected 33 best papers nominated by 11 departments. Students' papers were digitized and are now made accessible via the CityU Institutional Repository http://dspace.cityu.edu.hk/

The details of the Certificate Awarding Ceremony are as follows:

Date: 15 April 2011 (Friday)
Time: 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
Venue: User Education Room, Run Run Shaw Library

OAPS has drawn considerable interests from universities worldwide and has developed collaborative partnership with universities in the United States and various regions in the Asia-Pacific rim, such as Mainland China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. This year, we are pleased to welcome one of our member institutions, Waseda University, that shares the same aspirations of the OAPS Project and has actively advanced the project in its own institution.

The Library is honored to have invited Prof Arthur Ellis, Provost of CityU, to deliver welcoming remarks at the Ceremony. We are also honored to have invited Prof Kazumi Shimizu of Waseda University to deliver congratulatory remarks. Besides, Prof David John Randall of CityU, and Mr Choy Fatt Cheong of NTU will be the facilitators for the sharing sessions with the awardees.

We are also pleased to have invited the Dean/Head or delegate of the participating College/School/Departments to present certificates to their fellow students.

In conjunction with the Ceremony, a selection of OAPS papers will also be displayed in the Oval of the Library starting from 13 April 2011.

You are cordially invited to the Ceremony and the Exhibition. Please come and join us for this joyful occasion!
