Rebuilding the Tong-an Ships: New Media Art Exhibition


In collaboration with the National Palace Museum in Taipei, the University organized a new media art exhibition titled “Rebuilding the Tong-an Ships: New Media Art Exhibition” from 14 August to 17 October 2015. One of the Tong-an Ship models in 1:30 was displayed at the Multi-purpose Lobby of the Library, along with related library collections.

In line with this exhibition, the Library launched a series of activities aimed to engage students in discovery of the history of Tong-an Ships through library resources and physical exhibits and encourage them to showcase their creativity through the “Voyages of Discovery: History on the High Seas” writing competition, and special maritime history screenings were held at the Mini Theatre. Students were invited to take an online quiz about the exhibition with souvenirs. Over 400 students took part in the quiz and 17 students took part in the writing competition.
