Shawn (they/them) brings over 20 years of teaching experience working with learners from kindergarten to adult levels, specializing in both credit-bearing and non-credit EAP and ESP courses. They are skilled in curriculum design, assessment, and student-centered pedagogy, and proficient in web-based interactive tools, flipped/blended learning models, and the use of generative AI to boost engagement and digital literacy. Before returning to CityU in Fall 2026, Shawn taught intensive EAP and ESP courses at HKUST, held part-time lecturing roles at HKBU, PolyU, and HKMU, and completed teaching posts in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea. They have a strong record in supporting students' spoken English and mentoring speech-contest participants, and they are passionate about fostering creativity, a growth mindset, and inclusive, student-centered learning environments.
