Miranda has
built a long career as a university-based English
language educator in Hong Kong, specialising in
English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and English for
Specific Purposes (ESP). She has taught a wide range
of academic and professional communication courses
for undergraduates across disciplines, and
contributed to course and materials development for
face-to-face, blended, and technology-mediated
delivery. Having also lived and worked overseas for
many years, she brings extensive experience of
multilingual, multicultural learning environments
and the perspectives of the international classroom
into her teaching. She maintains an ongoing
commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, with
a particular focus on supporting students with
mainstream special educational needs in higher
education. She holds a recent certification as a
non-medical mentor for autistic students and
integrates inclusive, strengths-based approaches
into everyday teaching and student support. Miranda
is a passionate open water swimmer and can be
spotted training in the CityU pool or competing in
fun local events in HK waters!
