CityU’s first and only vet school in Hong Kong takes immense pride in receiving dual accreditation for the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine programme by the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council (AVBC) and Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).


Dr. Ibrahim Elsohaby, Assistant Professor in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Public Health, has been awarded the Kei-ichiro Maeda Memorial Award for 2023 for research into “Healthy People, Healthy Animals: The Power of One Health in Tacking Public Health Threats”


Milk produced by City University of Hong Kong (CityU) Farm in Lam Tsuen, Tai Po is now available at the CityU Milk Product Counter. CityU Milk is produced by the only dairy herd in Hong Kong.

On 8-9 October, a 2-day 1-night Teamwork and Leadership Orientation Camp was held at Hong Kong Playground Association's Facilities in Mui Wo for all in coming Year 1 BVM students.


JCC wishes to congratulate Professor Vanessa Barrs who was recently appointed the BOCHK Chair Professorship in Veterinary Medicine. Professor Barrs is currently Associate Dean and Director of Veterinary Affairs of the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) at City University of Hong Kong. She is also Chair Professor of Companion Animal Health and Disease at the JCC.
