Updates on Network Outage
For Staff & Students
01 Apr 2021

On 1st April 2021 (Tuesday), a construction worker made a mistake of cutting a trunk of fibre cables which subsequently affected many university activities relying on the network services (Internet, Wi-Fi, wired connections, IP Phones, etc).  The Computing Services Centre (CSC) had re-routed network traffic using alternative fibres to partially resume the services.

After days of working round the clock with cabling contractors, the CSC is pleased to report that network connectivity in the remaining areas had been fully restored since 11pm on 5th April.

Should you still encounter any service outage, please contact the IT Service Desk at 3442-8340 (Staff) / 3442-6488 (Student).
