Research Associate/Postdoc in the Centre for Applied One Health Research and Policy Advice (Appointment for 12 months with possibility of extension) [Ref. C/R/370/09]

 

Project

Project on Animal Health and Human-animal Interface


Duties

Develop and carry out research activities associated with animal health and the human-animal interface. Main duties include preparing research and grant proposals, writing scientific papers and reports, managing research projects, training junior research staff, and performing any other assignments.

Requirements

A PhD degree in Medical/Veterinary Epidemiology/Public Health or related disciplines plus at least 3 years’ relevant research experience after the award of a PhD degree.  High proficiency in written and spoken English; demonstrated experience in scientific research; being highly motivated, attentive to details and multi-task oriented; ability to work independently and in a team are required.  Good command of spoken Chinese and work experience in tertiary institutions or research institutes would be advantages.

Candidates with a PhD degree with no more than 3 years’ relevant research experience after the award of a PhD degree may be considered for appointment as Postdoc.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
