Research Associate/Research Assistant in the Department of Management Sciences (Appointment for 12 months with possibility of extension) [Ref. B/R/1171/09]

 

Project

HomAge: Home-based Aging for Transformative Community Care

Duties

  1. Collect research data for the Project by performing chronic disease management, post-discharge care, and nursing care based on the Netherland’s Buurtzorg model for the community-dwelling elderly through home visits;
  2. Maintain effective communication with collaborators and elderly’s family members;
  3. Maintain on-time and accurate documentation, and make timely referral for cases with identified needs;
  4. Ensure data accuracy and privacy;
  5. Liaise with project collaborators and stakeholders; and
  6. Perform any other administrative duties related to the Project.


Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree or above in Nursing/Health Science or related disciplines, with no more than a total of 6 years of service at the University;
  2. A Registered/Enrolled nurse recognised by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong with a valid practicing certificate;
  3. Experience in case management;
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
  5. Ability to meet deadlines, work independently and in a team with minimal supervision;
  6. Being self-motivated and attentive to details, with strong sense of responsibility required; and
  7. At least 2 years of post-qualification working experience in elderly, gerontology, clinical or community setting; and immediate availability preferred.


Candidates with a PhD degree plus at least 3 years’ relevant research experience after the award of a PhD degree may be considered for appointment as Research Associate.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
