Postdoc in the Centre for Chinese and Comparative Law (Appointment for 12 months) [Ref. B/R/1167/09]

 

Duties

The appointee is expected to study the legal and policy environments for harmonisation and integration in legal services and dispute resolution in the Greater Bay Area.  Duties include conducting doctrinal and empirical research related to the research projects; data/information collection and processing; literature review and evaluation; field research; drafting and editing reports; assisting in the logistics arrangements (including conferences and events organisation); and performing any other duties as assigned by supervisors. 

Requirements

A PhD degree in Law with no more than 3 years’ experience after the award of a PhD degree, with demonstrated academic training, research experience, interest and writing skills in public law, judiciary and dispute resolution in China and Hong Kong.  The appointee should have a certain degree of understanding of regional economic integration and trade in services.  S/he should be skillful in doctrinal and empirical research, and familiar with the relevant research methods.  Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua); and ability to work independently with minimal supervision are required.  S/he will have opportunities to present and publish her/his own research findings to peers.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
