Research Associate/Postdoc/Research Assistant (2 posts) in the State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution (Appointment for 12 months) [Ref. A/R/1128/09]

 

Project

State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution (City University of Hong Kong) (SKLMP) - ITC Fund


Duties

  1. Conduct experiments and modelling to develop emerging technologies in exploring the effects of Emerging Contaminants of Concern (ECCs);
  2. Apply nanotechnology and biotechnology for the removal of ECCs; and
  3. Review literature, conduct data analysis, and prepare publications.

 

Requirements

A PhD degree in Environmental Science/Environmental Engineering/Chemistry/Biology/Microbiology, or related disciplines with at least 3 years’ research experience after the award of a PhD degree.  Excellent command of written and spoken English and ability to work independently and in a team are required.   Preference will be given to those with statistical background and experience in lab experiments, computer programming and data management (e.g. Phython, R, matlab).


Candidates with less than 3 years of experience after the award of a PhD degree may be considered for the post of Postdoc.

Candidates with a Master's/Bachelor's degree with no more than a total of 6 years of service at the University may be considered for the post of Research Assistant.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
