Technical Officer (2 posts) in the Centre for Applied One Health Research and Policy Advice (Appointment for 12 months with possibility of extension) [Ref. T/054/24]

Aquaculture Extension Services for Hong Kong

Duties

You will be part of a CityUHK veterinary team which provides veterinary service to fish farmers in Hong Kong. Main duties include to:

  1. Provide assistance to fish farmers on fish health matters and advising on husbandry issues under the supervision of the Senior Technical Officers and Veterinarians;
  2. Assist the Senior Technical Officers and Veterinarians in daily activities and in training veterinary students in fish health;
  3. Help to manage day-to-day operations of our veterinary service including equipment maintenance, record keeping, water quality testing and sample collection processing;
  4. Assist in client communication and planning site visits; and
  5. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Shift duty and working on Saturdays, Sundays/public holidays may be required.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Aquaculture, or Diploma in Veterinary Nursing with at least 2 years of experience in aquaculture setting. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); good record keeping, time management and organisational skills; and attention to details are required. Possession of a valid Hong Kong Driving license (Class 1 and 2) is a must. 

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
