Technical Officer in Computing Services Centre [Ref. R/108/24]

The Computing Services Centre (CSC) at City University of Hong Kong manages the University’s Information Technology infrastructure and services covering Data Centre Operations, Cloud and System Hosting, Research Computing and High-Performance Computing, Communication and Networking, Workspace and Audio-Visual Technologies, and other related IT functions to support the University’s operations.

Duties

  1. Assist in the administration and support of Microsoft 365 and cloud collaboration services (such as Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business and Microsoft Information Protection);
  2. Perform daily operational activities including but not limited to handling incidents, service requests and implementing system changes according to CSC ITIL standards and procedures;
  3. Enhance the office automation and integration of CityU email and collaboration environment through PowerShell scripts, batch jobs and API development;
  4. Assist in the administration and support of email gateway and email backup solutions;
  5. Assist in the lifecycle management for SSL certificates including but not limited to procuring, inventory taking and installing single-domain SSL certificates, Extended Validation SSL certificates, Multi-Domain SSL certificates (SAN) and wildcard certificates;
  6. Involve in technology exploration and evaluation; and
  7. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. An Associate Degree/Higher Diploma, preferably in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Information Technology or related disciplines with at least 2 years of post-qualification working experience;
  2. Being proactive, eager to learn and well-organised with a strong sense of urgency and responsibility; and
  3. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) are required.
  4. Hands-on experience in administering and supporting Microsoft 365 and its applications is highly preferred.
  5. Knowledge of PowerShell script, Power BI and MS SQL would be an advantage.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
