Quantity Surveying Officer II (Contracts and Costs) in the Campus Development Office [Ref. A/838/09]

Campus Development Office is responsible for providing comprehensive services that cover campus master planning and space allocation, capital and renovation projects, operations and repairs, as well as maintenance of building services and estates for CityUHK.

Duties

  1. Manage consultancy services to ensure professional advice is solicited from the consultants;
  2. Prepare project budget estimates and cash flow projections;
  3. Provide input for drafting consultancy agreements and tender documents;
  4. Advise on tender/procurement strategy;
  5. Prepare tender cost estimates and assist in tender assessment;
  6. Monitor the project cost and advise on project cost control;
  7. Prepare final accounts, conduct cost appraisals, claim assessments, and prepare reports; and
  8. Perform any other assignments.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related disciplines, with at least 3 years’ relevant experience;
  2. A valid safety training course certificate (commonly known as “Green Card”) or equivalent issued by organisations recognised by the Commissioner for Labour;
  3. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  4. Being self-motivated with strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently;
  5. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; and
  6. Substantial experience in higher educational institutions and/or experience in managing government subvention projects are preferred.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
