IT Manager/Senior IT Engineer (Security) in the Computing Services Centre [Ref. D/312/09]


The Computing Services Centre (CSC) at City University of Hong Kong manages the University’s Information Technology infrastructure and services covering Data Centre Operations, Cloud and System Hosting, Research Computing and High-Performance Computing, Communication and Networking, Workspace and Audio-Visual Technologies, and other related IT functions to support the University’s operations.  The Centre has about 110 staff and contractors currently.


  1. Lead and manage IT Engineers/IT Officers (Security) to perform daily and ad-hoc network security-related tasks;
  2. Manage Mock-phishing Exercise, Security Awareness Campaigns as well as organize trainings;
  3. Track and monitor SCCM, EPP and EDR implementation progress;
  4. Work with the SOC team to transfer Azure and M365 logs to the SIEM (Splunk) and build relevant use cases to detect potential security threats;
  5. Take actions on identified alerts arising from file, device and user;
  6. Implement effective measures to control BYOD and Endpoints (e.g. NAC, MDM, etc.);
  7. Prepare reports for security incidents, breaches or violations; and
  8. Perform any other duties as assigned.


  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Management or related disciplines, with at least 10 years’ post-qualification working experience;
  2. In-depth knowledge of network security and Web Application, Windows and Linux operating system;
  3. Good analytical skills with a strong sense of responsibility;
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills, and good command of written and spoken English and Chinese are required;
  5. Hands-on experience with information security, SIEM and project management; and
  6. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISA and CEH would be an advantage.

Candidates with less experience will be considered as IT Engineer (Security).

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
