Clerical Officer I/II in the Department of Neuroscience [Ref. C/783/09]

 

Duties

The appointee will provide clerical and logistical support to the Department. Main duties include:

  1. Programme/course administration, student servicing, promotion and other departmental activities or events;
  2. General IT support including website maintenance and daily operation (such as trouble shooting on technical problems including computer software, hardware, network, sharepoint, equipment maintenance, etc.);
  3. Financial matters including procurement, payment and inventory maintenance; and
  4. Any other duties as assigned.


Requirements

5 passes in HKCEE/HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics with at least 2 years’ clerical experience.  Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); proficiency in computer applications (such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word-processing skill); good organisational, problem solving and interpersonal skills; attention to details; self-motivation with abilities to meet with tight schedules, and ability to work independently and collegially.  Preference will be given to candidates with work experience at tertiary institutions; and substantial experience in programme/course administration and student servicing.

Candidates with at least 6 years’ relevant working experience may be considered for appointment as Clerical Officer I.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
