Manager/Assistant Manager in the Global Engagement Office [Ref. B/525/09]

 

Duties

Reporting to the Deputy Director of the Office, the appointee will be responsible for:

  1. Working with overseas/mainland partner institutions and student participants to promote and support student exchange and other global learning programmes;
  2. Planning and organizing university events and visits to support internationalization;
  3. Leading and coaching student ambassadors in organizing activities to promote integration among local and non-local students;
  4. Providing non-academic advice and assistance to prospective and current non-local students;
  5. Supporting data management;
  6. Vetting and sponsoring student visa applications;
  7. Responding to student critical incidents when needed; and
  8. Performing any other duties as assigned.


Travel will be required occasionally.

Requirements

A Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Event Management/Communication/International Relations/Psychology/Counselling with at least 7 years’ post-qualification experience.  Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to multitask on tight deadlines; ability and genuine interest to work with people from a diverse cultural background; good knowledge of computer and software applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required.  Experience in overseas study/work would be an advantage.  In order to handle student emergencies and incidents that may involve people from other cultures, the candidate should be calm, positive-minded and strong in multicultural competence.

Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Manager.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
