Manager (Contracts and Costs) in the Campus Development Office [Ref. A/586/09]

 

Duties

The appointee will play a key role in capital projects, operational or property management from the planning stage to project implementation and delivery. Main duties include to:

  1. Monitor consultancy services, provide professional advice to meet statutory requirements and identify solutions to potential issues;
  2. Provide and review project budget estimates and cash flow projections;
  3. Provide input for drafting consultancy agreements;
  4. Advise tender/procurement strategy;
  5. Prepare tender cost estimates and assist in tender assessment;
  6. Perform project cost control;
  7. Prepare final accounts;
  8. Conduct cost appraisals, claims assessment, and prepare reports; and
  9. Perform any other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related disciplines with at least 10 years’ relevant experience;
  2. Full membership of MRICS/MHKIS or equivalent qualification, and a valid safety training course certificate (commonly known as “Green Card”);
  3. Extensive experience in large development projects in Hong Kong;
  4. Ability to use AutoCAD and Revit;
  5. Self-motivation for performance enhancement, with proven management and leadership ability to work under tight schedules and good analytical and interpersonal skills are required. 
  6. Substantial experience in higher education institutions and/or experience in government subvention projects are preferred.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
