Duties

Contribute to research and education (including teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, developing relevant curriculum, supervising students on research projects and under practicum/internship, and managing student activities and academic programmes) in the areas of Psychology, Criminology, Sociology or Social Work; actively engage in research and promote/participate in cross/interdisciplinary projects; and contribute to departmental administration and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

A PhD in Psychology/Criminology/Sociology/Social Work. Candidates for the Social Work discipline must have at least 5 years of post-qualifying social work practice experiences.  Candidates are expected to have a strong track record in research, publications and grant acquisitions in their specialized fields.  Preference will be given to those who are able to teach multi-disciplines.

Candidates for Assistant Professor should have demonstrated potential for high-impact publication and grant capture.  Candidates for Associate Professor should have a strong record of original intellectual achievement, as evidenced by research or publications and grant capture as well as a strong teaching record and contributions to instructional development.  Candidates for Professor should have a portfolio of significant contributions to their field of scholarship (including publications and the receipt of research grants or funds), and a strong record of providing leadership in teaching and educational activities (including supervision of graduate students) and professional experience.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance.  Excellent fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable).  The appointment is on substantiation-track and the initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
