Visiting Fellow in the Department of Information Systems (Appointment for 12 months) [Ref. B/R/971/09]

 

Duties

  1. Teach lecture/tutorial/laboratory classes mainly at undergraduate (BBA) and taught postgraduate (MSc) levels, in particular the large freshman classes in areas related to Information Management, e-Business and Business Programming with a strong emphasis on IT application in business, as well as comprehensive information systems courses related to social networks, mobile apps, big data analytics/AI, cloud services and FinTech;
  2. Prepare teaching materials and design new courses independently;
  3. Organize and assist in student activities;
  4. Handle teaching-related administrative duties as assigned by Programme Leaders and Course Leaders; and
  5. Perform any other duties as assigned by Department Head, Associate Head, Programme Leaders and Course Leaders.


The appointee may be required to work beyond normal office hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Requirements

  1. A PhD degree in Information Systems/Information Technology/Computer Science or related disciplines, preferably with at least 1 year’s full-time teaching experience at tertiary education institutions supported by teaching evaluation records;
  2. Good leadership and communication skills with ability to work independently;
  3. Fluency in spoken English and Chinese; and
  4. Being passionate in student caring and mentoring are required.



Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Terms of appointment will be based on the current visiting remuneration package.
