Research Assistant in the Department of Neuroscience (Appointment for 12 months with possibility of extension) [Ref. C/R/478/09]

 

Project

Sensory and Cognitive Neuroscience

Duties

The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator in a research project to study neurodevelopmental disorders using in vivo CRISPR genome editing. Main duties include:

  1. Assisting in breeding and maintaining lab mice;
  2. Assisting in maintaining human or mice cell culture; and
  3. Assisting in research experiments including immunohistochemistry, behaviour tests and basic neural electrophysiology.


Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with no more than a total of 6 years of service at the University.  Ability to communicate in English or Chinese; strong sense of responsibility; and good organisational skill to plan and document scientific records are required. Previous work experience in rodent and/or cell culture related experiments are desirable.

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic
