Postdoc/Research Assistant (2 posts) in the Department of Computer Science (Appointment until 30 September 2023) [Ref. A/R/1213/09]

 

Project

Development of Massive Data Analytics for Rumor Source Detection and Faked News Invalidation against Infodemic

Duties

  1. Conduct research on AI technologies and big data analysis;
  2. Collect information from different channels (e.g. media, internet, the Government’s data etc.) to support strategic intelligence; and
  3. Share decision-making efforts and collate meaningful insights to enable timely strategic digital public health decision-making to address the COVID-19 pandemic and future pandemic challenges.

 

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering with no more than a total of 6 years of service at the University; and
  2. Strong analytical thinking (i.e. good mathematical training), knowledge of machine learning and good experience in software programming.

 

Candidates with a PhD degree with no more than 3 years’ experience after the award of a PhD degree may be considered for appointment as Postdoc.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
