Assistant IT Manager/IT Officer in Computing Services Centre [Ref. R/108/25]

The Computing Services Centre (CSC) at City University of Hong Kong manages the University’s Information Technology infrastructure and services covering Data Centre Operations, Cloud and System Hosting, Research Computing and High-Performance Computing, Communication and Networking, Workspace and Audio-Visual Technologies, and other related IT functions to support the University’s operations.

Duties

  1. Coordinate with different stakeholders for AI projects and ensure timely delivery and alignment with organisational goals;
  2. Develop, and deploy AI solutions across mobile, web, and kiosk platforms, ensuring seamless user experience and integration with CityUHK systems and APIs;
  3. Develop reports, dashboards, and visualisations to monitor AI project performance and ROI;
  4. Assist in preparing documentation, including system design, operational manuals, and user guides for AI solutions;
  5. Assist in Proof of Concept (PoC) and experiment with emerging AI technologies and tools to drive innovation; and
  6. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Artificial Intelligence/Information Technology or related disciplines, with at least 5 years’ post-qualification working experience;
  2. Hands-on experience in developing, and deploying AI-powered solutions using frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and LangChain;
  3. Proficiency in programming languages like Python and Java for AI application development;
  4. Experience working with AI models on cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP, Alibaba, DeepSeek) and deploying/fine-tuning open-source models on on-premises GPU servers;
  5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address technical challenges independently; and
  6. Strong communication skills in English, Putonghua and Cantonese, proactive mindsets, and willing to learn are required.

Candidates with less experience will be considered for appointment as IT Officer.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
