Assistant IT Officer I in the Computing Services Centre (Appointment for 12 months) [Ref. D/R/119/09]

 

The Computing Services Centre (CSC) at City University of Hong Kong manages the University's Information Technology infrastructure and services covering Data Centre Operations, Cloud and System Hosting, Research Computing and High-Performance Computing, Communication and Networking, Workspace and Audio-Visual Technologies, and other related IT functions to support the University's operations. The Centre has about 110 staff and contractors currently.

Duties

  1. Provide daily support to IP phone system, such as phone configuration, installation, etc.;
  2. Perform POE patching for IP phone setup/relocation;
  3. Follow-up and handle IP phone faulty unit replacement with the maintenance service provider;
  4. Perform phone setup to support University’s special events;
  5. Maintain the documentations of the phone service, such as analog line inventory, operation guides, etc.;
  6. Generate reports;
  7. Troubleshoot problems encountered by users; and
  8. Perform any other duties as assigned.



Requirements

  1. An Associate Degree/Higher Diploma/Diploma or equivalent;
  2. At least 6 years’ post-qualification work experience, 2 of which should be in IT or related disciplines preferably in IP phone support;
  3. Being reliable, self-motivated, detail-oriented with strong sense of ownership;
  4. Good communication, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills;
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and
  6. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese are required.

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
