Assistant IT Officer II in the Computing Services Centre (Appointment up to 30 June 2023) [Ref. D/R/110/09]

 

The Computing Services Centre (CSC) at City University of Hong Kong manages the University’s Information Technology infrastructure and services covering Data Centre Operations, Cloud and System Hosting, Research Computing and High-Performance Computing, Communication and Networking, Workspace and Audio-Visual Technologies, and other related IT functions to support the University’s operations.  The Centre has about 110 staff and contractors currently.

Duties

Reporting to the Cloud and Data Centre Operations Team, the appointee will:

  1. Update and maintain asset inventory of the data centres;
  2. Perform clerical duties during creation and submission of changes or incidents; and
  3. Perform any other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  1. 5 passes in HKCEE/HKDSE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics;
  2. At least 2 years’ post-qualification working experience, preferably related to computer science or electrical engineering;
  3. Experience in data centre operations;
  4. Knowledge on Linux/Windows shell skills;
  5. Being reliable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, communicative with strong sense of ownership, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills;
  6. Ability to work independently; and
  7. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese are required.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
