IT Officer (Data Analysis) in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (Appointment up to 30 June 2023) [Ref. D/R/106/09]

 

We are looking for an IT Officer (Data Analysis) to carry out routine data analysis tasks.  The appointee is expected to know how to analyze system requirements, understand user requirements, and make a story using the data for this role.

Duties

  1. Coordinate with stakeholders of the University to identify their analytics needs and requirements;
  2. Research on the Internet to gather relevant information;
  3. Work with the Senior Scientific Officer to carry out data analysis tasks; and
  4. Provide support for Management Information Systems (MIS) by gathering requirements, presenting analysis, and attending meetings.


Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related disciplines;
  2. Working experience in the field of Data Analysis, Business Analysis, or related fields;
  3. Understanding of database structure principles;
  4. Experience in gathering and analyzing system requirements;
  5. Expertise in SQL scripting;
  6. Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Qlik Sense, Tableau, Power BI);
  7. Strong logical mind, strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as good learning attitude;
  8. Good communication skills in English;
  9. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously are required; and
  10. Knowledge of R and Python is preferred.
