IT Officer in the Enterprise Solutions Office [Ref. D/334/09]

 

As part of the Central IT at City University of Hong Kong, Enterprise Solutions Office (ESU) is responsible for managing the University's central information systems, as well as integrating advanced technology into the administrative processes of the University.

Duties

  1. Participate in the software development projects of research information management, student life-cycle management, regulatory compliance and other administrative areas;
  2. Analyse user requirements, design and develop new web and mobile applications with microservices architecture / API management platform;
  3. Upkeep system specifications, user manuals and related documentation;
  4. Perform evaluation, proof-of-concept on new technology or solution; and
  5. Perform any other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related disciplines;
  2. Solid experience in Oracle and development with SQL, PL/SQL, Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Python and jQuery;
  3. Good analytical mind and interpersonal skills;
  4. Ability to work independently as well as with others as part of a team;
  5. Proactive with service-oriented attitude;
  6. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese are required; and
  7. Experience in Groovy/Grails, microservices technology, Docker, Kubernetes, API management (Mulesoft, Boomi) and data analytics tools (Qlik, Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI) would be an advantage.


Fresh graduates will also be considered.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
