IT Engineer/IT Officer (Security) in the Computing Services Centre [Ref. D/299/09]

 

The Computing Services Centre (CSC) at City University of Hong Kong manages the University's Information Technology infrastructure and services covering Data Centre Operations, Cloud and System Hosting, Research Computing and High-Performance Computing, Communication and Networking, Workspace and Audio-Visual Technologies, and other related IT functions to support the University's operations. The Centre has about 110 staff and contractors currently.

Duties

  1. Deploy vulnerability scanners in various network subnets and regularly track and report vulnerability patching status;
  2. Assist in implementing Centralized Firewall Management Platform (Tufin);
  3. Assist in implementing appropriate security controls to reduce IT security risk in University IT offices and departmental IT teams;
  4. Liaise and coordinate with user departments for IT security related works;
  5. Scan for open ports from the network;
  6. Close or register the open ports identified by the SOC and internal operations;
  7. Maintain history and library for security incidents; and
  8. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Management or related disciplines, with at least 5 years’ post-qualification working experience;
  2. Knowledge of Web Application, Windows and Linux operating system, and Network;
  3. Good analytical skills with a strong sense of responsibility;
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills, and good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese are required;
  5. Hands-on experience with information security and project management would be an advantage; and
  6. Professional certifications such as CISSP and CEH would be beneficial but not mandatory.


Candidates with less experience will be considered as IT Officer (Security).

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
