Associate Director/Development Manager in the Development Office [Ref. D/286/09]

 

In a strategic move to further strengthen the fast developing Institutional Advancement functions of the University and to enhance the result of the University’s first-ever comprehensive fundraising campaign, the University is looking for a seasoned and dynamic fundraising professional to take up a strategic position in the Development Office which is one of the key offices under the leadership of the Vice-President (Development and External Relations).

Duties

Reporting to the Director (Development Office), the appointee will play a key role in raising donation for the University from individual prospects and corporations, including those in the Mainland China, and coordinate related fundraising efforts.  S/he is expected to take a proactive approach to develop fundraising strategies, identify and cultivate prospects, solicit donations and organize stewardship activities.  S/he will also support the University management in solicitation of institutional gifts and donor relations.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree plus a postgraduate qualification;
  2. At least 12 years’ solid and relevant specialist experience;
  3. Strong connections and good knowledge of Hong Kong’s tertiary education;
  4. Strong communication and leadership skills with outstanding organizing ability; and
  5. Excellent command of written and spoken Chinese (including Putonghua) and English are required;
  6. Preference will be given to candidates who have sound credentials in fundraising for education or philanthropic purposes; and
  7. Demonstration of leadership in motivating team to achieve fundraising goals would be an advantage.


Candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree with not less than 10 years’ relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Development Manager.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
