Assistant IT Manager/IT Officer in the Computing Services Centre [Ref. D/285/09]

 

The Computing Services Centre (CSC) at City University of Hong Kong manages the University’s Information Technology infrastructure and services covering Data Centre Operations, Cloud and System Hosting, Research Computing, Communication and Networking, Workspace Technologies, Audio Visual Technologies, and other related IT disciplines to support the University’s operations.  The Centre has about 100 staff and contractors currently.

Duties

  1. Manage and coordinate projects (from plan, design, build, implement, monitor to close);
  2. Perform ServiceNow implementation, patching, upgrade and administration (e.g. workflow administration, report setup, data imports, API, scripting, app Engine);
  3. Provide technical support, maintenance and troubleshooting for in-house developed systems;
  4. Develop reports (both regular and ad hoc) and dashboards in ServiceNow and Power BI to improve the visibility on ticket management, trending and performance for different levels of stakeholders;
  5. Work closely with vendors and system integrators to implement effective IT solutions;
  6. Create and maintain system design and operations documentation; and
  7. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Information Technology or related disciplines, with at least 5 years’ post-qualification working experience;
  2. Hands-on experience in ServiceNow administration, configuration and development, including but not limited to Integration Hub, App Engine and CMDB;
  3. Familiarity with IT Service Management processes, best practices and IT Operations;
  4. Experience in web technology using RESTful APls, construction of JSON/XML for data interoperability, Power BI and database administration;
  5. Effective management of multiple projects concurrently while maintaining a keen eye for details;
  6. Proactive, eager to learn and well-organized with a strong sense of responsibility;
  7. Strong analytical skills, good interpersonal and communication skills;
  8. Adaptable to change, ability to work independently and as a team and under pressure; and
  9. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese are required.


Candidates with less experience will be considered as IT Officer.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
