Clerical Officer I/II in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences [Ref. C/825/09]

Duties

  1. Act as the Personal Assistant to the Head of the Department, and perform a wide range of administrative, financial and personnel functions, including managing a diary, coordinating correspondence, scheduling meetings and appointments, organising travel plans, liaising with university departments and external parties, preparing documents and reports;
  2. Provide clerical support to the Department on general office administration, such as office maintenance and space management, logistic support to departmental events/activities, etc.;
  3. Provide overall administrative support to Research and Postgraduate programmes, such as student admission and management, and
  4. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of the Department or his delegates.

Requirements

5 passes in HKCEE/HKDSEE, including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, with at least 2 years of clerical experience. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), good organisational and interpersonal skills, and abilities to work independently and under pressure are required. Candidates should be fluent in English.

Candidates with more than 6 years of relevant working experience may be considered for appointment as Clerical Officer I.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
