Executive Officer in the Office of the Senior Vice-President (Innovation and Enterprise) [Ref. B/786/09]

The appointee will provide support to the Ecosystem Team of the Office. The team aims to build up a comprehensive start-up ecosystem in the territory and beyond by fostering partnership with stakeholders including governments, incubators, investors, start-ups, entrepreneurs, etc.

Duties

Main duties of the appointee include:

  1. Organising events including competitions, workshops, seminars, networking sessions, and innovation showcases inside and outside of Hong Kong;
  2. Coordinating cross-border incubation support for local and non-local start-ups in the HK Tech 300 ecosystem;
  3. Liaising with governments, institutions, industries, incubators and investors to facilitate partnership with CityU in support of the University’s innovation and enterprise ecosystem in the territory; and
  4. Performing any other duties as assigned.

Travels outside of Hong Kong may be required.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years’ relevant working experience;
  2. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  3. All-rounder with attentiveness to details, strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, and flexibility and creativity in problem-solving;
  4. Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet tight timelines and to take up new assignments and challenges;
  5. Strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation; and
  6. Proficiency in MS Office applications and Chinese word-processing.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in higher education institutions for mainland/overseas-HK operation or start-up incubation related areas.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
