Assistant Engineer in the Department of Electrical Engineering (Appointment up to 30 June 2024) [Ref. A/R/1234/09]

Project

Development of Laboratory Management System and Laboratory Operation Support

Duties

The appointee will be responsible for developing a Laboratory Management System and providing support in user/equipment training, lab operation maintenance and safety.  Main duties include to:

  1. Write programmes to automate data analysis and generate reports (for safety compliance, lab consumables & inventory system and security system etc.)
  2. Set up a database and a webpage containing information of equipment training resources, user security and authorisation control;
  3. Assist the supervisor in managing the lab and maintaining its safety standard during laboratory sessions;
  4. Prepare working equipment/lab kits, relevant consumables and lab documentation for the lab courses;
  5. Enhance the booking system for Rooms/Equipment/Lab sessions;
  6. Provide IT support and advices on daily operations of the programmes/systems; and
  7. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Information Technology or related disciplines;
  2. Good written and spoken English;
  3. Being self-motivated with good communication skill, ability to work under pressure and perform effectively in a team-based environment are required.
  4. Candidates with experience and knowledge in programming, web applications, databases management and lab safety & operation are preferred.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
