Research Assistant in the Department of Electrical Engineering (Appointment for 12 months) [Ref. A/R/1227/09]

 

Duties

  1. Assist in the work on an automatic monitoring system to enable clinical psychiatrists to detect abnormal behaviour of mentally unstable patients;
  2. Assist in developing an obstacle detector and detection app for the visually impaired; and
  3. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related disciplines with no more than a total of 6 years of service at the University;
  2. Good analytical and programming skills; and
  3. Interest in conducting applied research and its application are required.
  4. Familiarity with machine learning, computer vision and python programming language is preferred.

 

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
