Technical Officer (2 posts) in the Department of Systems Engineering (Appointment for 12 months) [Ref. A/R/1220/09]

Duties

Post 1

  1. Handle procurement, sourcing and commissioning of new teaching equipment;
  2. Provide technical support in layout design, planning and setting up new laboratories;
  3. Perform laboratory safety works as assigned by the departmental safety officer;
  4. Assist the technical team in preparing and conducting laboratory experiments and student projects;
  5. Maintain documentation works in the laboratory office; and
  6. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Post 2

  1. Design, develop and establish a new VR/AR laboratory;
  2. Provide support in equipment purchase, laboratory renovation, and laboratory-related administrative matters;
  3. Be responsible for laboratory/equipment installation and operations, and conduct safety training;
  4. Provide technical support for teaching of new courses in the Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering programme; and
  5. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree/Higher Diploma in Engineering or related disciplines with at least 2 years' relevant experience;
  2. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and
  3. Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, chemical lab, ARVR industries and/or intelligent manufacturing will be an advantage.

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
