Executive Officer I/II in CityU Dongguan Campus Office [Ref. A/663/09]

 

Duties

The appointee will initially be based in Hong Kong. S/he will then be required to work on the to‐be‐built campus in Dongguan – "CityU (Dongguan)" [CityU (DG)] at a later stage. Main duties include to:

  1. Co-ordinate with internal and external parties on the academic affairs of CityU (DG);
  2. Assist in monitoring the development of registry systems, from managing system administration, access control, to system testing;
  3. Assist in formulating system development plans for registry services in alignment with the strategic development of the University;
  4. Render support to the selection and development of a new Student Information System (SIS);
  5. Work with the IT team of CityU (DG) to design and develop systems in support of operation and reporting needs, and to maintain effective system performance;
  6. Liaise with CityU on registry and relating systems, and transfer of data when applicable; and
  7. Perform any other duties as assigned.


Frequent travels to Mainland China will be required.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor's degree or above with good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  2. At least 6 years’ solid experience in web application development (preferably with experience of Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or other similar student system);
  3. A proven track record in leading IT projects;
  4. Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and problem solving skills;
  5. Ability to produce quality work independently and under tight timelines; and
  6. Capability of working efficiently and collaboratively in a dynamic and diverse work environment are required.


Candidates with more than 7 years’ relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Executive Officer I.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
