Assistant Graphics Designer in the City University of Hong Kong Press [Ref. A/652/09]

 

Duties

  1. Deliver full spectrum of design and production services in a manner consistent with the University’s image and the branding of CityU Press;
  2. Provide design support for all aspects of publication projects as well as marketing materials in printed, online and digital forms for CityU Press and the University;
  3. Participate in and coordinate other design opportunities/projects from theme design to production (including event design, exhibition booth design and venue decoration design);
  4. Facilitate requests for banner advertisements and develop specific landing pages;
  5. Provide general support for CityU Press marketing team during the delivery and maintenance of digital marketing campaigns via email, social media and website;
  6. Coordinate with outsourced production vendors and monitor their progress and quality to meet the standards of the University; and
  7. Perform any other duties as assigned.


Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree/higher diploma/diploma in Graphic Design, Creative Media or related disciplines, preferably with at least 3 years’ relevant work experience.

Proficiency in Mac and Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign); strong level of creativity and design sense as well as skills in layout, typographic and cover design in both printed and digital forms; familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing industry; excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong sense of responsibility; ability to work independently; and being self-motivated and a good team player are required.  Proven experience in digital media use (including video editing, social media and website production); and basic knowledge of HTML/HTML5, CSS, After Effects, Flash, Dreamweaver and Premiere Pro are preferred.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
