Accounting Officer I/II (Accounting and Financial Planning) in the Finance Office [Ref. A/607/09]

 

Duties

  1. Handle accounting matters including preparation of journal entries and various reports and analysis for University's various operations;
  2. Prepare accounting schedules and financial statements for month end closing and annual audit purpose;
  3. Assist in preparing various reports and returns to fulfil the requirements of the UGC and other Government departments;
  4. Assist in vetting financial proposals for various projects / activities including self-financing programmes, conferences and consultancy projects;
  5. Assist in vetting agreements on financial implications; and
  6. Perform any ad hoc duties as assigned.


Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related disciplines, preferably with at least 6 years’ relevant experience preferably in sizeable organisations. 

Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); strong analytical skills; strong sense of responsibility with initiatives; mature working attitude; and ability to work independently are required. 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint); experiences in handling sizeable ERP systems and hands-on experience in Oracle Financials would be an advantage.

Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Accounting Officer II.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
