Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Information Systems (Appointment for 12 months commencing from 29 August 2022) [Ref. B/R/1153/09]

Applications are invited for the above posts:

Duties

  1. Teach tutorial and laboratory classes mainly at undergraduate (BBA) level;
  2. Provide course support for Year 1 BBA courses with a strong emphasis on IT applications in business;
  3. Conduct independent work in the preparation of teaching materials and new course design;
  4. Grade student assignments, as well as assist in laboratory tutorials;
  5. Help in recruiting students with good JUPAS scores;
  6. Organise and assist in student activities;
  7. Handle teaching related administrative duties as assigned by course leaders; and
  8. Perform any other duties as assigned by Head, Associate Head and course leaders.


The appointee may be required to work beyond normal office hours.

Requirements

  1. A Master’s degree in Information Systems/Information Technology/Computer Science or related disciplines, preferably with at least 2 years’ experience in teaching Bachelor’s degree level courses supported by teaching evaluation records;
  2. Excellent command of written and spoken English;
  3. Good leadership and communication skills with ability to work independently; and
  4. Being passionate in student caring are required;
  5. Fluency in spoken Cantonese would be an advantage.

 

Salary

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
