CityUHK and BIEL Crystal signed an MoU on 3 April to jointly promote the development and industrialisation of technologies in advanced manufacturing, advanced materials and AI in manufacturing.

CityUHK held a University-Industry Exchange Luncheon on 19 March. The event brought together industry elites to enhance collaboration, donations, and experience sharing among industry, business and academia, contributing to the advancement of research and innovation for the University, industry, and society.

CityUHK held an opening and naming ceremony for the Lee Shau Kee Student Residence Village on 6 December, marking a milestone for the University’s development in terms of striving to creating a high-quality education and living environment for students.

CityUHK was honoured to receive a generous donation from CMA Testing, a subsidiary of The Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong, in support of the University’s innovation and entrepreneurial endeavours, particularly the HK Tech 300 programme. An MoU signing ceremony was held on 29 November to mark the significant milestone on a closer partnership.

CityUHK hosted the naming ceremony for the Yip Kit Chuen Building on 3 October. The building is named after Dr Yip Kit-chuen, a prominent industrialist and entrepreneur in Hong Kong, in appreciation of his generous donations to the University’s development and research to nurture future talent.

CityUHK Industrial and Business Leaders Circle held an engagement event on 12 July to introduce CityUHK’s latest developments in innovation and technology to Leaders Circle members and guests. The event aimed to promote further cooperation between the industry and business sectors with CityUHK and solicit resources for the University’s advancement.

The first award ceremony for the Chau Sin Wo Scholarships for the School of Law of CityUHK was held in March to commend outstanding undergraduate law students. Three students won the award this year.

CityUHK is committed to taking part in community activities and building strong connections with local partners. With this commitment and to let more people taste the fresh milk produced by CityUHK Farm, CityUHK sponsored 1,200 boxes of milk to support the BOC Life Rogaine Charity Race 2024, organised by The Hong Kong Award for Young People on 28 January.

Over 550 distinguished guests attended the dinner of the CityU Foundation earlier, at which HK$16.8 million, a new record, was raised to support the strategic research development of the University.

The School of Creative Media at CityU celebrated its remarkable 25-year journey with an evening of creativity and inspiration at the “SCM 25 Hong Kong Film Series Opening Night” on 22 September.
