Description
An energy efficient air-to-water heat pump system is used in each Student Block to supply pre-heated water to instantaneous hot water heater for showering in student bathrooms. The systems comprises of two 30 KW air-to-water heat pump and one 3500 litre hot water storage tank. The annual energy saving is estimated to be 60%, compared with conventional instant electric water heaters. This system has been installed for Blocks 1-6 and 8.

More Information
Heat pump supplies hot water at 55oC which is stored in a water tank. A mixing valve is used to thermostatically control the pre-heated hot water at 35-40oC before it is supplied to the instant hot water heater for showering purpose.
