Andy Chow's research focuses on design and operations of intelligent transport and logistics systems with applications of emerging information and computing technologies . He received his undergraduate education in Hong Kong. His doctoral research on optimal control of dynamic transport networks completed in England received a Gordon Newell Memorial Dissertation Prize in 2008. He is serving as the (founding) program leader of the Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) program in Innovation and Enterprise Engineering (IEEG) in the SYE department at CityU, a Deputy Principal of the Executive Committee of the Bright Future Engineering Talent Hub program, and a member of the JC STEM Lab of Smart City. Externally he is a Board Member of the Hong Kong Society for Transportation Studies (HKSTS), President of the Operational Research Society of Hong Kong (ORSHK), and Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILTHK). He is also serving as an external advisor for MTR Academy and Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre (LSCM) in Hong Kong. Before joining CityU, Dr. Chow has held academic and research positions at University College London in the U.K., and University of California Berkeley under the California PATH program in the U.S.
