These words penned by Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. speak to the important role language plays in developing and communicating our thoughts, passions, ideas, discoveries, and even technological breakthroughs. In today's world, which is arguably more interconnected and intertwined than ever before, an individual's capacity to span continents and cultures with clear communication is essential for professional success. Therefore, enhancing multilingualism and multiculturalism at CityU is part of the core mission of the Chan Feng Men-ling Chan Shuk-lin Language Centre.
With the above in mind, the Language Centre, or LC, as it is affectionately known, offers courses in Cantonese, English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin (Putonghua), and Spanish. In addition to these courses, which have been expertly designed with your success in mind, the LC offers a host of other services and resources via its Language Centre Hub, Language Centre Support Services (LCSS), Language Advising, YouTube channel, and other online learning aids.
