Dr. Yan has over 16 years of experience in corporate communication, investor and public relations, marketing, and news media. She has served at managerial and director-level positions in Hong Kong listed companies, multinational corporations and international NGOs for nearly 10 years, familiar with IR and PR work, multi-stakeholder relations management and regional marketing and branding.
Before that she worked as news editor for the leading Chinese media organizations in Hong Kong and mainland China. She was also a full-time teaching staff in the Department of Media and Communication at City University of Hong Kong, teaching various courses including PR production, integrated strategic communication, news writing and reporting, persuasive communication, and the department’s first public course open to all CityU undergraduates.
Dr. Yan is also a professional simultaneous interpreter by training and practice, having served the United Nations agencies and a number of international/business conferences for over 17 years, with extensive exposure to the latest global and industry trends across different sectors.
