CityUHK Department of Media and Communication and Peking University School of Journalism and Communication Successfully Held the Student Exchange Agreement Signing Ceremony

At the opening ceremony of the 7th "Medicine, Humanity and Media" International Conference held on July 7 2024, esteemed guests, including Prof. Yuzheng REN, Standing Committee Member and Vice President of Peking University, witnessed a significant milestone as the Department of Media and Communication (COM) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) and the School of Journalism and Communication at Peking University convened for the formal signing of a Student Exchange Agreement. This ceremonious event marked the commencement of collaborative efforts aimed at fostering long-term cooperation and exchange between the two institutions.



Prof. Gang CHEN, Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication of Peking University, noted that this marks the inaugural launch of an undergraduate exchange program between the School of Journalism and Communication of Peking University withand a university in Hong Kong. This collaboration is expected to invigorate the development of journalism and communication education in at Peking University and CityUHK, promote academic exchanges between Hong Kong and the mainland China, and strengthen close interaction between the young people of the two places.



Prof. Yi-Hui Christine HUANG, Head and Chair Professor of Communication and Media, Department of Media and Communication of CityUHK expressed her expectation that students from the two Universities would gain deeper insights into the media ecology of mainland China and Hong Kong through the exchange programme. She hoped that the two faculties would work together to create a platform for young students to learn and exchange ideas, and to contribute to the development of the academic fields of media and communication in the two places.
