Professor Nuri KIM from Nanyang Technological University presented an "Encountering Difference: Exploring Communicative Contexts for Improving Intergroup Relations" seminar on 5 May 2023. Her research focuses on encountering "difference" in discursive environments and its implications for democracy. Prof Nuri KIM brought together disparate theoretical frameworks of deliberation, narrative persuasion, and intergroup contact to shed light on the phenomenon of "encountering difference." In closing, she shared her thoughts on new venues and ideas for contact research in communication. About 20 faculty members and students attended the seminar.
