Two media projects by postgraduate students from the MA in Communication and New Media program won top awards at the 2022 China Daily Campus Newspaper Awards

The short documentary titled “Lighthouse Memories: Tang Lung Chau Lighthouse” was the winner in the category of Best in Features Video Reporting at the annual competition regularly joined by 50 major universities in mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.
 
It was produced by two postgraduate students, Song Rui , Zhang Jingzhi, in collaboration with the Lighthouse Heritage Research Connections project of the Library at City University of Hong Kong.

Another short documentary, produced by GUO Yuhan titled “Master of Jianzhan: ZHANG Mufang 曜變：建安盞大師張木芳” won the Champion of Best Feature Video in the Chinese group.

Students from the Department of Media and Communication have participated in the competition (the Category of Features Video Reporting) six times over the past eight years.  They won awards each time.  In 2017 and 2022, they swept the top awards in both the Chinese and English groups.
